He Was ABSOLUTELY Right!

This address drew some flack for the suggestion that Barack was somehow playing the "race card".  Look at it now in the context of the current race & wonder if anyone could have given a more accurate prediction of not just how this cycle would progress, but also why.

Tired of the ridiculus push-polls that have appeared in more than a few diaries around here, I included the "lucky" option.  I try to play fair - even with those still in complete denial.

To be completely honest, I voted that they were freakin' brilliant, but they knew this was coming... anyone with any sense of how badly damaged the GOP is this year saw it coming... They are corned and fighting.

It's sad that they are doing this whole scorched Earth thing.  It's not surprising but a shame nonetheless.

It gets worse as now they are going after Michelle.

What's next... implying that his daughters are terrorists?

These people have no shame.

McCain/Palin... even scarier than Bush/Cheney... and that's saying something!

Sorry... that should be cornered and fighting not corned... Although, whatever definition we could invent for corned, they may soon be that as well.

Anyone who has ever failed to chew sufficiently and has subsequently peeked into the bowl before flushing knows precisely what 'corned' means. I find it describes McCain and his supporters perfectly.

I don't know how it plays to the larger public, but at least to me, Obama is spot-on with this slightly incredulous disdain.  At some point you just have to laugh at people who make a mockery of themselves...

Re: He Was ABSOLUTELY Right! (2.00 / 1)

I remember telling some recalcitrant former Clinton supporters that hopefully they'd get to the point where they could back Obama wholeheartedly, because it's FUN.  I was too young to vote when Clinton ran, so he's easily the most skilled politician of my political life.  Supporting him is a lot like driving a Lambourgini after a lifetime of Honda Civics.

Freakin' Brilliant is my vote.  Always pitch-perfect.
